International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Filing
The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is an agreement between the lower 48 states of the United States of America and the Canadian provinces to simplify the reporting of fuel use by motor carriers that operate in more than one jurisdiction for vehicles over 26,000 pounds. Motor Carriers are required to file and pay IFTA quarterly taxes and application fees.
International Registration Plan (IRP) also known as Apportioned Plates is the registration required for the same vehicles. IRP may be required before IFTA.
Comprehensive Drug Screening & DOT Compliance Services can file the IFTA on your behalf. Fees for our services is to properly prepare your application. We cannot guarantee when your State will respond to the application.
The Motor Carrier is required to provide all necessary information on fuel and mileage for each state. You can upload a spreadsheet of your information with your order. If you do not have a spreadsheet you can download an IFTA spreadsheet here.
